Sixth Form Day
Sixth Form lessons take place anytime between the hours of 8:35am and 3:05pm.
Sixth Form lessons can take place in any of the lessons (shown below) throughout the day. Unlike a school timetable, a Sixth Form timetable will include “free” lessons during which students are expected to take control of their own learning and complete independent study. Students have access to an exclusive Sixth Form area where they can complete work during their free time. Sixth Form timetables might also possibly include work placement or enrichment days.
All Sixth Form students receive their own ID badge, allowing them to access and leave the school through reception at any point throughout the day via a signing-in service; this lets us monitor which students are in the building but also gives students the independence to take control of their free time.
The Sixth Form operates a two-week timetable, referred to as ‘Week 1’ and ‘Week 2’. Each day has five possible lessons of subject studies with a fifteen-minute morning break and a 45-minute lunch period. Each lesson lasts for one hour.
Included within the Sixth Form timetable, are carefully planned enrichment and religious lessons. This includes ethics debate, first aid courses and more to give our students a broad and balanced curriculum, that will allow them to stand out in further education and employment.
