Examination Regulations and Expectations
We want to ensure that every student has a calm, positive experience and that all exams run smoothly. To support this, alongside the JCQ Regulations, we have a small number of clear procedures that protect the integrity of the exam environment for all students. Please see the following letter for further information.
JCQ: The Joint Council for Qualifications
JCQ is the national organisation that sets the rules for exams. It comprises of the eight largest providers of qualifications in the UK. This includes AQA, City & Guilds, OCR, Pearson, and WJEC.
JCQ are the organisation that governs administrative arrangements for examinations. They provide support for schools and colleges and ensure that regulations are fully complied with. The JCQ website has a vast amount of information about exams and how they must be conducted. https://www.jcq.org.uk/
JCQ also provide support for students. Further important documents you will need to familiarise yourself with can be found via the link below.

Coursework Overview Timeline
We recognise that it is good practice, when setting coursework, to ensure that our students are informed about the following:
-
how coursework fits into the assessment of the course, ie percentage of overall marks available;
-
the criteria for assessment of the coursework;
-
the expectations in terms of time to be spent in the production of coursework;
-
a clear schedule of deadlines for drafted work as well as the final deadline for production of completed work.
To this end, we have created a number of documents for our current Year 10 students which outlines coursework expectations and time frames.
