Academy Values
Jesus said, “I am the Good Shepherd”.
We are rooted in Jesus’ life and teaching:
Aspire
The good shepherd came to bring us 'life in all its fullness' (John 10:10).
As Jesus came to bring us life in all its fulness, we aim for everyone to ASPIRE to reach their God-given potential and live full, meaningful and purposeful lives.
Belong
‘I am the good shepherd. I know my sheep and my sheep know me' (John 10:14)
Just as Jesus came to bring us into his family, we aim for everyone to know they BELONG at The King’s and are included, known, heard, and valued.
Care
'The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.' (John 10.11)
Just as Jesus, in love, laid down his life for us, we aim for everyone to CARE for others, going the extra mile to help, show compassion, encourage, and build one another up.
These values are upheld by all staff, governors, pupils and visitors to the school. This is reflected in the Christian vision and ethos at The King’s Academy, as well as underpinned by Behaviour, Anti-Bullying and Equality Policies. Staff and Governors follow a Code of Conduct which reflects these values, and regular visitors and volunteers to the school also are made aware of the importance of upholding these values. Opportunities are given through the curriculum for pupils to explore core British Values, and robust policies and procedures are in place when these values are not upheld, underpinned by clear Christian principles of reconciliation and forgiveness.
