Health and Social care
Coursework Expectations – BTEC Level 3 National in Health and Social Care
The BTEC Level 3 National in Health and Social Care combines theory and practical learning, assessed through written assignments, case studies, presentations, and practical tasks. Students gain experience in areas such as understanding human growth and development across the lifespan, exploring anatomy and physiology, applying health and social care practices in the workplace, and supporting the wellbeing of individuals in a range of settings. They also focus on professional development, including preparing for employment through CVs, applications, and interview skills.
In addition to classroom study, students take part in enrichment opportunities such as visits to local care facilities, outdoor learning experiences, and community projects. These experiences help students develop practical skills, confidence, empathy, leadership, and communication, preparing them for further study or a career in the health and social care sector.
