Coursework Expectations – BTEC Level 3 National in Sport

The BTEC Level 3 National in Sport combines theory and practical learning, assessed through coursework such as written assignments, case studies, presentations, and practical demonstrations. Students gain experience in areas such as understanding how the body responds to exercise, designing and evaluating training programmes, developing coaching and performance skills, and learning how to prevent and manage sports injuries. They also focus on professional development, including preparing for employment through CVs, applications, and interview skills.

Alongside classroom study, students participate in a range of enrichment opportunities such as outdoor adventure trips, visits to local sports facilities, and community-based coaching projects. These experiences develop sporting skills while building confidence, teamwork, leadership, and communication, all essential for progression into higher education or a career in the sports industry.
